We seek a Scientific Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our rapidly growing life science reagents company. As a key commercial team member, you will play a pivotal role in building a global life science brand and contributing to scientific research worldwide.

Our client is a leader in providing innovative assay kits, antibodies, and assays to scientists across the globe. They are on a mission to make scientists smile by offering exceptional products and interactions with their scientific team. Their reagent technologies are making a significant impact on research from Boston to Beijing, with products cited in over 140 publications.
In this role you will:
- Achieve monthly sales targets for both existing business and new growth as part of the company's strategy.
- Identify, develop, and close sales by proactively prospecting and engaging with potential customers.
- Provide accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales forecasts, while maintaining and updating the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to implement future company sales strategies.
- Promote and sell the full product portfolio in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
- Actively manage leads through the sales process using various communication channels, including email and phone calls.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers.
- Serve as an expert resource for the successful implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
- Proactively prospect for new leads using in-house digital tools.
- Oversee digital outreach processes, ensuring the CRM is up to date.
- Adhere to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to gauge and improve performance.
- Stay current with technical knowledge through courses and in-house product training.
- Follow company procedures and policies.
We are looking for people who have:
- BSc/MSc or PhD in Science (knowledge of Immunology, Cell or Molecular Biology would be an advantage).
- Excellent track record in new account generation and exceeding sales targets.
- Previous experience in business development.
- Strong customer service orientation and exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced SME environment, with a problem-solving mindset.
- A positive attitude towards the company and the marketplace.
- Experience working in the life science market.
- 1+ years of sales experience.
- Must be based in the London, Cambridge or Oxford area or commutable distance of the Golden Triangle.
Benefits:
- Up to £55,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
